"Opinion in good men is but
knowledge in the making"John Milton
You need to know where I stand on key issues.
But since text can be less effective I chose to tell you
myself where I stand and why I feel the way I do.
Please check out the videos and see if
you and I are in agreement.

Military/Defense
I am a huge
proponent for our military and will give them all necessary support
Without a
strong military we cannot remain as great as we are
I am with
Reagan that we approach "Peace through Strength"
Technological
advances
I would like
to see Washington turn their approach from subsidies and big budgets
and bureaucracies to more incentives for private
innovation
Think the
"X" prize for space
Environment
If there is
one thing I know in my heart of hearts is that the earth's climate
changes and we don't know how specific things effect it.
Whether man is
effecting it or not is not the issue because it is impossible, right
now, for us to determine exactly what, specifically has a particular
effect. Therefore we should not legislate policies that will effect
each and every American (cap and tax) when we don't know(or I suggest we
have no clue at all) whether or what effect it will even have.
We should
focus our intentions on adapting to future changes considering it is a
proven fact that no matter what we do the environment is going to change
one way or another. It will cost less to adapt than to try and prevent
one effect but not be prepared for others
Energy
Drill for
oil we already have (you cannot talk seriously about energy independence
without this)
We currently
use oil and no matter what the next source of energy is it will not be
here and widespread for years. So let's go get our oil that
we can use until then
Expand
Nuclear Power
Al Gore
claims that noone (corporations) wants to spend the money on Nuclear
because it is not efficient enough for the money. Well let's open up
the possibility and the corporations decide whether it is fiscally
appropriate. I am guessing it is.
Coal
power has made huge breakthroughs so let's clean up the output from
existing plants so we can continue improving as we lead to new energy
opporotunities
Like
above, we should offer "prizes" for breakthroughs to spur private
innovations to our energy needs
Let's stop
dumping money into something (i.e. ethanol) that some bureaucrat
somewhere thought was a good idea but wasn't
Education
If our
public school system isn't doing the job as well as they should, then
why can't parents take their children to a school that does better?
We need
Vouchers to allow parents to have a choice
Charter
schools offer a good option as well so why shouldn't we use them?
Labor
I will try
and pass a bill that will make the entire country into a "right to work"
state, in essence.
Not to give
workers a choice as to whether to join or not to join a union is at odds
with the very freedom that Americans deserve.
Each worker
can decide for themselves whether they want to pay union dues to receive
any support/benefits from that union
Common sense
to me...this is America still isn't it?
